Many of you may have seen a public apology in the trade press from Mr Ian Munroe from Sensorcom Ltd of Beckenham,
Kent. (Shown below text).
Sensorcom Ltd manufactured a tinnitus product and in a bid to pass their products off as ours, laser printed on to them
our registered trade mark AUDIMED. Not only did this infringe our trademark but it has led to some confusion amongst
our customers.
We received complaints from two separate Audiology departments, both of whom were under the mistaken impression
that the products supplied by Sensorcom were in fact manufactured by Puretone. In the first case two devices were
returned to us with major faults. In the other case 50% of the goods were found to have significant defects.
In both instances we replaced the defective units with our own genuine, high quality AUDIMED tinnitus devices free of
charge.
We subsequently sought professional advice and on 27th April 2011 we initiated legal proceedings in the High Court of
Justice. The attached apology formed part of the settlement from Sensorcom.
Clearly this is a very serious matter and if you have come across any of these counterfeit goods we would like to hear
from you. Furthermore, as a gesture of goodwill we will be happy to replace any counterfeit stock you may have with
official AUDIMED products.
Yours Sincerely
