Puretone are very proud
to have won the award for Medway Company
Of The Year 2007 at the Medway Business
Awards.
"Puretone Ltd scooped
the top prize of Business Of The Year 2007
at The 23rd annual Medway Business Awards
in November. For Puretone, based
in Rochester, Kent, it was pure joy as Managing
Director Baz Choudhry and staff stepped
onto the stage to receive a cheque for £2,000
and a stunning silver trophy. The
top prize was presented to Puretone by local
MP Paul Clark and Radio Kent DJ Barbara
Sturgeon at a gala presentation featuring
other top businesses in the Medway Area.
Puretone is now the last British designer
& manufacturer of hearing systems.
The business also manufacturers tinnitus
devices, in-ear monitors for musicians,
noise protection devices, covert surveillance
equipment and accessories. Baz Choudhry
said, “Taking the company to a new level
is not easy, especially when I’m following
in the footsteps of my father who’s had
so many accolades, including an OBE.”
Baz had persuaded his father, Jay Choudhry,
founder of Puretone in 1976, to put off
his planned trip to Spain, just in case
they won. He said, “I’m overwhelmed,
shocked and surprised. I still can’t
believe i’m holding this marvellous trophy.”
Puretone has been successful in winning
many other awards over the last 30 years,
including Kent Exporter of the Year (1995),
Kent Business Personality of the Year (Jay
Choudhry - 1995), and in 1996, the prestigious
Queen’s Award for Export Achievement. In
2006 Puretone achieved the Investor in People
standard. The award for Business Of
The Year adds to the growing collection
of accolades the Kent company has collected
already this year. Baz vowed to spend
the £2,000 prize money on a Christmas party
for all of Puretone’s staff, to celebrate
the success of the company in 2007."
