Krypton - 32 Channel
Hearing Systems - The
Krypton range is the first range of hearing
systems from Puretone that uses a unique
signal processing strategy known as ADRO.
Amplified output levels are automatically
monitored in each of the 32 channels, adjusting
gain when needed in order to maintain a
desired output range across the frequency
spectrum that is unique to the individual.
Other features include an adaptive beamforming
directional microphone system, adaptive
feedback management and 3 memories.
Feedback Manager
- The Adaptive Feedback Manager (AFM) on
all Krypton hearing systems automatically
detects and removes feedback before it becomes
audible to the user. The system provides
up to 15dB more available gain. The strength
of the feedback control is programmable
in each of the 3 memories for maximum performance
in various situations.
| ADRO
- All Krypton hearing
systems feature ADRO, a set of rules that
the hearing system uses to manage sound
levels and produce a high quality hearing
experience.
Audibility
rule - If
the hearing system detects that the sounds
being amplified are below the ADRO threshold,
then the device will automatically compensate
for this by increasing the gain until the
sounds being amplified are at an audible
level. Low levels of speech will therefore
be boosted to a normal level so they can
easily be understood.

Comfort
rule - If the
hearing system detects that the sound being
amplified are above the ADRO threshold,
then the device will automatically compensate
for this by decreasing the gain until the
sounds being amplified are at a safe and
comfortable level. Loud noises will
therefore be reduced to a lower volume so
they do not become uncomfortable.
MOL
rule - ADRO prevents
any loud sound from exceeding the maximum
output level of the hearing system. This
prevents sudden implusive sounds from causing
loudness discomfort.

Krypton 32
The Krypton 32 is the most
advanced behind-the-ear hearing system (BTE)
in the DAC range. Smaller than traditional
BTE devices, the Krypton 32 offers advanced
digital features and features an open ear-tip
for increased comfort. Type 13 battery.

Available in beige, brown
or grey colours.

Krypton CM13
The Krypton CM13 is a custom-made
hearing system that fits completely into
the ear (ITE). Being custom-made from an
impression of the ear, it fits perfectly
and offers maximum comfort and hearing experience.
The CM13 features a type 13 battery. Dimensions:
16x8x24mm (nominal).

Krypton CM312
The Krypton CM312 is a custom-made
device that firs into the ear canal (ITC).
Smaller than the Krypton CM13, it is less
noticable in normal use, while still being
extremely comfortable due it being custom-made
to the user's ear. The CM312 features a
type 312 battery. Dimensions: 11x7x20mm
(nominal).

Krypton CM10
Similar to the Krypton CM312,
the CM10 is a custom-made device that fits
in the ear canal (ITC). Slightly smaller
than the CM312, it offers almost invisible
cosmetics when in normal use, as well as
advanced features of the Krypton circuit.
The CM10 features a type 10A battery. Dimensions:
10x6x20mm (nominal).

The
Krypton CIC is the smallest hearing system
in the Krypton range, fitting deep into
the ear canal. Custom-made from an impression
of the ear, the CIC is extremely comfortable
for long term use, and is almost invisible
in the ear. Features a type 10A battery.

Why choose a Krypton hearing system?
The previous generation of hearing
aids utilised amplification systems based on analogue
electronic technology. These hearing aids simply took
the sounds and noises that they "heard" and
amplified them. That meant amplifying unwanted signals
also. It was possible to apply some limiting factors
to the output sound levels of these hearing aids but
in general, although they were an excellent solution
for the patients, the opportunity to use Digital Signal
Processing was a huge breakthrough.
Digital Signal Processing allows
us, the manufacturer, to do just that:- "process"
the signals that are received by the hearing aid. This
means that we can manipulate the incoming sound, and
transform it into what the user feels most comfortable
with. We can reduce unwanted noise, and concentrate
on providing the user with clearer speech signals.
All Krypton hearing systems are 100%
digital and have advanced features such as ADRO,
feedback
management, speech management and microphone noise reduction,
features not found on analogue hearing systems.
